My steps for researching in my organization is going very slow process. I check out two books from the library that I believe would help in the research project. One of the books that I checked out was written in a journal style format and describes the process of pledging through first person. The book only helps by describing the process of pleding into the sororities. It explains some of the things that a person may go through during this pledge period.
The second book has more statistics information about sororities and it is informative. The book will help me out on certain information. I haven't figure out on what view or approach on how I am going to write my paper. I am still brain storming on the ways of how I am approaching the proporsal. The researching is still in first phase and in the process of gathering other information that may support or give me ideas on how to go about on my topic for the proporsal.

I never really had information or presentation on the Miller Center LR&TS OPAC, but I figured we had one due to the fact that my high school had a similar program. My high school had an online search base program to look up books you needed to find in the library. I learned how to narrow my search results for my topics and the use of key words that would narrow down my search. I find it much easier to be able to find the books that I need the most for my project and take away some of the books on the list that I don't need. the advance search also helps me limit my results and find the books I need the most for my use.
The difference with the Miller Center LR&TS OPAC and Great River Regional Library OPAC was that there was a lot more books found with information that was searched. It was giving more information on topic that was search by giving the list not only of books, but also listing the DVDs that relate to the topic being searched. Another reason for more results being more is that it list all the books and DVDs that are from other towns besides St. Cloud. The list of the search was listing all the books and DVDs that libraries had from all the cities within the region. The bridges of narrowing down the search was a little similar than the Miller Center LR&TS OPAC, but harder due to the fact of all findings from a regional area.

Today, I went to the Leadership Development Institute, because one of my organizations required it and the other encourage members to attend. I learned about group work and leadership skills. One of the presentations that attend was Public Relation, Image Development, and Branding that was mostly for the audience of the sororities and fraternities. The presenter had implied that the image of our organization and any other organization is important, because it will determine the outcome of people wanting to join the sororities/fraternities. One thing the presenter mention of trying to get all people (including multicultural organizations) involved in the sororities/fraternities is co-partner them in an event or help sponsor the event. Even having the sororities/fraternities attend the multicultural events introduces them to the sororities/fraternities. It gets the organization to be familiar or aware of the sororities/fraternities. Just getting the word of our sorority would make more awareness to the multicultural organization that may be interested to learn more about the sorority that supported them.

This is my first time blogging, so it will be a challenge for me to keep updating my information for this page. The information media class requires me to have a blog, so that others that are in my class can see my progress in the research project. The research project is dealing with an organization on campus that has multicultural challenges or issues. I am very involved with organization on campus for example; the committee of Atwood After Dark and Concert on University Board Program, I am also involved with my hall committee and a sorority on campus. The sorority on campus that I am involved in is called Delta Zeta and I spend all my time doing work for the sorority and other committees.
On Friday, Delta Zeta sorority had a presentation for Chapter of Excellence to present information about our sorority and what we do as a sorority to help others. One question that our sorority was asked at the end of presentation was how do we bring other cultures to join. One of my sisters knew that was a problem, but did not have a solution to solve this issue. That moment I knew it is my goal to find a way of other cultures to join our sorority.
