Survey

The survey is in the process. Sororities have a meeting at least twice a month, where every representative from house comes to the meeting and report of the business or news that they have. This last meeting on Wednesday April 8th, the head chair of recruitment have run a survey on how the campus view the sorority. The first question ask what term best describe the sororities or fraternities on campus and the most result for the one term was fun. The second question was what events are the sororities involved on campus and 35 percent of the people on campus had no idea. This meant that the campus where unaware of the sororities activities that involved campus events or volunteer service.
My survey would be similar on the way it would go about. The survey would be ask what people view the sororities on campus and what prevents people from join the sororities on campus. The survey would ask question of what would be the best thing for the sororities to do to get notice on campus. Also, it would have maybe the year of school, and it may have a question asking if the person is already in a sorority and why they decide to join a sorority. The survey is still in a working process on getting the questions down and where the survey is to be done.

Leadership Opportunity

I had an opportunity offer to me by the University Program Board on campus to attend a conference Called National Association for Campus Activities (NACA). The NACA convention was held in Rochester, MN for the Northern Plains schools. This was the first time I have ever been to a conference for any organization that has strong ties with the school. I was glad I took the opportunity to go to NACA, because I had learned a lot of information.
The conference had education sessions, showcases of entertainers, and camps that the agency try to promote the sells. The camps for NACA was interesting to me, because the entertainers and agency really push to get the school sales. The camp layout was set up by putting tables in rows and columns that each entertainer had one table to fill their promotion ideas to sell in the space they were given. It was interesting on the ways that the entertainers and agency would do just to get the attention or the chance to be able to perform at an individual school.
The conference had four education session that had lesson that topics were ranged from films to art to group structures. The education session was helpful to me, because I went to the group session and how to become a leader session or what is it to be a leader session. These session provide group activities of working together and how to be a leader to motivate the group to want to do certain things they desire to do. One of the education session even taught me some of the terms of contracting an entertainer and ways to do a contract and the regulations and rules of doing a contract. This was very informal education session that I had learned a lot.
The most fun part about the conference was the show case of the entertainers. The entertainers that was selected to perform at the conference were fun to watch. The performer wanted to sell themselves and they did whatever they could do to get your attention by performing funny acts or showing of their talents. This experience was once in a lifetime and help me get a better knowledge of being a leader. It provide me the skills that I will need to work on now and in the future.

I still unsure of my decision on whether to do a research proposal or a research project for my assignment. I have decided on doing the research proposal, because I feel that it works better for the research part that I am doing. I am research on sorority recruitment (mostly Delta Zeta that is in St. Cloud) on how the recruitment is design now and what ways can be change or taken to change the situation. The situation of having the sororities lacking on multicultural will be pretty written to propose the new styles and techniques that could improve the interest of multicultural people in the sororities.
The literature review has been somewhat confusing to me, but I feel I have figured it out. I just need to do the APA style format, which I guess I haven't been doing. I need to figure out the format by figuring out how to use reference works, but that is confusing too. I really don't like these last few weeks because everything is due and so many test need to get done. So these last days in the semester will be a lot of work especial this research proposal project. I am going to try to get everything done early or on time. This well test my skills of time management.
